The first debate of this very interesting political election occurred Friday night. The topics of discussion were on the economy and foreign policy. Both McCain and Obama have a plan to tackle the economic problems like the bank bailout and energy crisis, and both have opinions on dealing with terrorism.
This is the question that needs to be answered: who has the better plan to tackle the economic and foreign policy issues, and why? Secondly, what is being stated by either candidate that is not in accords with the Constitution (i.e. what in either of their plans violates the Constitution)
Remember NO first person, and use things that was said in the debate. You may have to go and rewatch parts of the debate. Give me good things to read!

Obama clearly had the better of the first part of the debate, stating what everyone really wanted to hear about and that was our economic plan.1.He said that he would make oversight over the process of money being given(i.e companys like fanny may ect....)2He would make sure it would end up back in taxpayers hands and quote "not be used to buy a golden shoot for the rich and well connected"3.He followed up by saying he would not allow padding for the rich.4.He will help and keep Homeownership.5. He also said that he would cut 95 percent of the population's taxes.6.He also said that regulation was bad and he wrote to the state treasury 2 years ago forseeing this problem unlike John Mcain who agreed with this shown by his 90percent vote with what George W Bush believes.7.Obama will make healthcare affordable unlike John Mcain who in the first time in history tax people on their health care benefits which is all but absurd. Not only is Obamas economic plan better but is helping people who really need it. Unlike John Mcain who is going to give in average of 700,000 in reduced taxes for the rich, which will almost be doubled for the loop holes(supported by Mcain)that are already used by the rich and buisnesses. This is not the only thing that stood out in this debate, another thing that stood out was Mcain's economic plan which he basically stated this.1.It includes that Rep. and Dem. sitting together for Independence on Foreign Oil is clearly the most important.2 Deduction in spending. 3.Giving tax cuts to people who dont need them. This is the brilliant plan that John Mcain hopes to work, please chose for youreself which is better.
Now as far as foreign policy goes Mcain shouldve had the edge yet Obama came out on top. Because instead of focusing on the issues Mcain often focused on how he was a pow(prisoner of war),when we are worried about being poe(prisoner of our economy)Also he brought up how he had a bracelet, true sob story which can easily distract a audience, to bad Obama had a bracelet to :).But what made Obamas plan the best is that he knows what we need to be focusing on and that is Afghanistan not IRAQ!!!!!! This is shown by Robert Gates quote and that is"It started in Afghanistan and needs to end there"Also we have 4 times more troops in Iraq than in Afghanistan. Another statistic that really stood out was that the war in Iraq has only strenghtened Iran not weaken it. It is not only this statisitc that is scary but the fact that Alkida has only grown since 2001. Yet Mcain based on EMOTION and STRATEGY refuses to ackonwledge the truth, that it is time to pull out. Obama ended by saying that the silent treatment we are giving other countries are not going to work and if we cant even meet with the Prime Minister of Spain (cough cough...John Mcain) which is are ally how are we going to get anywhere. Even Mcains close friends are seeing this truth, among them is Henry Kissenger who says we need to meet with Iran without pre-conditions.
What both candidates supported that does not line up with the constitution is that they are going to provide. Whether it be Tax-cuts or affordable healthcare or stemulus packages all support one or 2 things that do not line up perfectly to the constitution.
ps.did anyone notice that he took the first part of the debate and stalled and how funny it was when Obama had his own bracelet and pulled it out.Another thing that was funny was how he pulled out his pow story which was over 30 years ago. This debate was definately a 7 out of 10 because it spent to much time on foreign policy when what people want to hear about is are economy.
The debate, McCain is proving the important points.
He has the flat out truth, and he knows what he's planing for the United States. He wants to solve Recovery Plan, but only short term, but tackling something short term is good, that way you don't have to take care of the whole thing at once, which is what Obama wants to do. McCain wants to control the money intake and the amount of money that is being spent. He wants to regulate it. McCain believes that the worst thing right ow for the economy is ti raise the tax, which is true. If we have a lot of tax, the gas prices go up, the food prices go up, and other important things that are needed are more expensive. When things become more expensive, people pay less, and businesses don't make as much as they have seen. McCain also wants to do a spending freeze, except on our defenses. Spending less on what we DON'T need and taking it over to help our troops in
Iraq would be good for our economy. McCain did best in this part of the debate.
When foreign policy came up neither, one of the presidential candidates were top of things. They told stories....THIS ELECTION ISN"T ABOUT GETTING YOUR AUDIENCE TO CRY, it's to show your better than the other person,[or that you would make a better president than the other person.] They both had good points here and there, but it didn't grab attention. McCain wants to base his decisions for the war, on emotion and strategy, while Obama wants to meet with our allies. Neither candidates were sure how to decide to fight the war, ask the Americans, we're the ones having to suffer the outcomes it, I guarantee most of us will say 'no then pull our troops out! Obama pointed out the "We should be focusing on Afghanistan, that's the true threat." Well, what if we do ,and forget about Iraq? Huh? What happens then? Iraq fights back and we're not ready because we were too busy trying to fight Afghanistan.
Obama may look good now, but what about when he's actually the president, and same about McCain.
As far as being unconstitutional, both the presidential candidates say they are going to be protecting the United states, and they are going to try to PROVIDE. That 's not their place, they aren't here to provide, because if they were we wold be in trouble, they don't have the power to provide. The government is just there to protect us and God's job is to provide for us. :0

Well i personal think McCain had the better plan for foreign and economic policy's. first he wants To not raise taxes like Obama does.
Also to cut spending on stuff that we don't need or isn't helpful. The most important spending to McCain is the defense spending. If we didn't have that we would already be dead. Second offshore drilling McCain wants to do more of that which will save us a bunch of money and not give as much money to the terrorist groups. three use nuclear power as a source of energy to get out of this energy crisis that we are in. I think McCain did the best in economic policy's because on some questions Obama was stuttering.
Now on to foreign policy's McCain says the lesson we have learned from Iraq is we come in victory not defeat. We haven't had another attack like 9/11 so thats why we should come home in victory. He thinks we should get the support of Afghanistan. I agree if we get the support of them then they can help us protect Israel. The most important thing to me is that we make sure that Iran doesn't get nucs because if they do, then Israel is going to nuked. McCain doesn't want that to happen. Then to avoid a second holocaust. If Iran bombs Israel that is what is going to happen. Then finally McCain says he is pretty sure their is a lot less percent of a 9/11 attack again. Thats why McCain dominated the foreign policy.
Well Both candidates said they wanted to provide for the U.S.A and protect it but the truth is, the government is here to protect us . to make sure no more 9/11's happen you have to provide for your self. But also i think that God can provide and protect you. but he put the government their to protect you while he provided for you
McCAin and Obama both have a clear plan of how they want to help recover the economy. But, McCain's plan on economic and foreign policy issues is much stronger than Obama's. McCain wants to cut spending and keep taxes low. He is right in saying that Obama's plan is "the worst thing we could do in this economic climate to raise people's taxes." As far as the healthcare system goes, Obama wants to equalize it and allow everyone to have basic coverage. McCain wants people to purchase their own healthcare. This is a much better plan because if healthcare is equalized then the people will be taxed additionally and will paying for other peoples healthcare inevitably. McCain has the right idea considering foreign policies. He knows that it is wrong to risk the prestige of the American presidency by meeting with rogue leaders. Unlike Obama who says he would meet with Ahmadinejad. Obama is not in accordance with the Constituion is that the goverments position to take care of everyone is counter to the purpose of government.
-Kendall Jackson
McCain over all defended what he believed and actually knew what he was talking about when Obama just goes on what his advisors tell him. If you haven't noticed McCain is more original than Obama with his views and ideas. Getting back to the debate though. McCain has the better plan to handle our foreign policy issue and our economic issue. On the topic of the war in Iraq Obama wants to pull out in 6 months because he believes we are losing in Iraq. In fact we are NOT!!! If we do pull out of Iraq then I promise you we will have to go back. When McCain visited Iraq and talked to some of the troops he found out that they were staying even longer even after there term had expired because they do not want there children to have to go and fight. Even Binladin said that Iraq is the center battleground. I liked the why McCain said it "If were going to aim a gun at someone we need to be prepared to pull the trigger." this completely relates to what Obama wants to do in Iraq. We need to finish the job and then concentrate in other areas (if necessary). The thing that gets me is how inexperienced Obama is. He thinks we can just go in and bomb a building in Pakistan. Well honestly you just can't do that. You have to have strategy of what you are going to do. You have to think before you act, and that is something that Obama just does not understand. McCain has experience of war and Obama just believes that it is a big game. McCain has the ability to keep America safe and frankly Obama does not. The government is suppose to provide security but how can it do that when the leader cannot keep America safe.
Foreign Policy was also a big topic in the debate. All Obama wants to do in dealing with this is talk....Ok who cares.....McCain on the other hand wants to take action which is what we need to do. An example is with the recent attack on Georgia by Russia. when asked how they would deal with this problem Obama plainly said I would go and talk to him about it. While McCain said he looked the russian leaders eyes and saw "KGB" that shows you how each person looks at things. Another thing is the difference between preparation and pre-conditions. In my own understanding he would want to meet by being prepared. It did not sound like he would meet with other country leaders with-out pre-conditions. Mccain would only meet with a leader with pre-conditions while Obama said he would only be prepared. you cannot meet with a leader that says he will With-out a doubt John McC ain knows foreign policy and how to deal with difficult problems while Obama seems to struggle. the main problem with Obama is that he just plainly lacks the experiance.

The time that I posted my comment also reminds me of a topic that was mentioned in the debate that I failed to previously post. As you might have guessed it is on 9/11. This might have been one of the only things the candidates agreed on for the first couple of lines spoken. They both said it highly unlikely for something like this to happen again.
-Ryan miller
Joseph did you think that Al Kida was gonna get smaller? NO! And it was Iraqis that blew up the WORLD Trade Centers not the Afgans. And I believe Obama also said we need to invade Pakistan without even trying 2 talk 2 them so ya know, they both had there flaws(unlike Joseph pointed out). I do agree with Jo on the talking with out preconditions. Obama brought up the point about us not talking to North Korea. Duh were not gonna cause they have Nukes pointed at our heads!
I will make my actual post later cause i havent watched the 1st part of the debate yet.
Mr Williams on your poll i meant to vote for experience since that is what it all comes down to and one candidate has it and the other greatly lacks it...... you can figure out between the two.

McCain and Obama both have different ideas on how to straighten out the economic and foreign policies issues, but McCain has the stronger plan. McCain believes that by cutting taxes, it will strengthen the economy. This plan will work because by cutting taxes, it is putting more money in the american citizen's pockets, thus giving them more money to pump back in to the economy by spending it on the now weary businesses. McCain stated that he would "veto every single spending bill" that comes across his desk, and that is what American needs, someone who knows when to say no to spending money on frugal things such as the "DNA research of bears in Montana." Obama believes we should be able to tax as much has 300 billion dollars to "some of the wealthiest corporations and individuals in the country". Does this not contradict the constitution? Those "wealthy individuals" worked for their money, and they shouldn't have their money taken away by the government to take care of other things. The constitution says that the government is to protect our rights, not provide our rights. We are supposed to have the right of pursuit of happiness and that right comes from God, not from the government.
McCain also has a stronger plan when it comes to foreign policy. He believes that by going into the corrupt nations such as Iraq and clearing out all of the bad influences, that this will help both America and the other country because we are helping their government become stronger, and we can become allies with them. But Obama desires to sit down with dictators of countries that dislike America such as Ahmadinejad of Iran, who wants to wipe out an ally of America-the nation of Israel, and Obama desires to meet with them without pre-conditions.

Obama & McCain on the economy --> Neither Obama nor McCain gave a good answer for our problems in the economy. How do you spend $700BILLION dollars and not have a detailed plan or take more than a few days to come up with that plan? The problem of our economy is a problem of the people. People buy things with money they don't have (borrow it) and the banks and investment firms pay themselves big bonuses for making those loans. America is spoiled rotten! Greed is in the heart of America, and neither candidate wants to tell people that they are greedy because that kind of truth will not win votes.
As it relates to the energy crises, both candidates were in agreement with America’s need to stop relying on foreign oil. They both agreed that America needs to drill for its own oil to solve the immediate crises and to find alternate energy for America's long-term energy needs. Each candidate tried to give examples of how they voted in the past to support alternate energy, and both accused the other of not supporting laws to find other energy sources.
As it relates to foreign policy, McCain showed that he had more experience. McCain has both fought in a war and has been involved in foreign policy for many years. McCain was strong in his belief that America should not negotiate with terrorist! Obama seemed to spend more time defending statements he had made in the past without showing any experience in how do deal with foreign nations.
Neither candidate accused the other of making statements that were not in accords with the Constitution. The Constitution was designed to create an environment where people are free to pursue “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. The Constitution does not provide any entitlements (when people think the government owes them something). The Constitution does not promise a dinner every night to every individual person. It only says that they are free to work for that dinner, and the government’s job is to keep others from stealing that dinner. Some eat more than others. The Constitution does not promise a doctor or dentist in every home. Therefore, for Obama to say that health care is the government’s job is only a short distance from saying the government owes every person a dinner.
John McCain was much stronger on the forgein policy debate. Obama has never been to Afganastan. McCain wants to support the troops and not pull them out all at once. He understands that some countries leaders can't be trusted. Obama wants to sit down and chat and agree to play nice, but they won't. McCain is correct with healthcare - I want to choose what doctor I see, not let the government decide. They argued over stupid spending and who had spent the most. The spending just needs to stop.

Senator McCain, without a doubt, has the better plan to get us out of our economic downfall, and the best policy with foreign relations. McCain wants to cut spending and keep taxes low. McCain believes that the worst thing you can do, in this economic problem, is cut peoples taxes. McCain wants every family to have a 5,000 dollar refundable tax credit, so that they may buy things that they need. Many people have been knocking on McCain because he didn't ever say middle class, and Obama did. What they're not mentioning, is that McCain saying "every family" includes middle class, unlike Obama, he basically only says "middle class". McCain has the best foreign policy that lines up best with the Bible, considering he is a Christian, and will try to do what the Bible says.
Obama had said something that extremely unconstitutional. He had mentioned that he wanted to pay for everyone's health care. If he payed for health care, we wouldn't have enough doctors, and they would be busy for weeks. He is trying to get the Government to provide for us, when it is only their job to protect us, and do what's best for our country. The Constitution wants us to work for ourselves, not have all the work done for us, since the average American is extremely lazy. The Republican party understands that we need to work for ourselves and not have the Government do all the work for us, or that will destroy everything that our forefathers have worked for.

This debate between Obama and McCain was about economic crisis and financial recovery plan.My opinion is that they said basically the same thing about the plan to tackle the economic and foreign policy issues. But Obama explained little bit more to the people giving a points at the beginning of their debate. He gaves us a few points (Ex.1.Obama said he would make oversite over the process of money being given.. and Mccain was giving a overview of genaral situaion.Obama wants to invests in energy. He wants to compete in the global economy.Lets say example about Iraq.McCain wants to finish war they started in Iraq but Obama says maybe we should never gone to the war.Second example is about cutting coorporation taxes.McCain wants to cut their taxes so they dont need to go to China to buld their business bec.it is cheaper there. If he cuts them other people can get a job in the US.Obama is against cutting.
McCain maybe is saying this against constitution.President should not seat down to negotiate with other leaders if they will not meat certain condition.
Obama has socialistic ideal about taxes in that the very cuccesuful corporation and individua should pay for the majority of the debt. This could be seen as a condition aganst the constitution
McCain has the better plan for the economic and foreign policy.McCain wants to create jobs for the citizens. He want to eliminate our use on foreign oil, control the spending in watshington, cut business tax,and have fair tax, unlike obama who wants more taxes.2 we would not be here if it was not for our defence, obama does not want to give money to our defence system to improve.obama wants the government to control education and health care,(look at other countrys obama and u will see that health care can not be controled by the government)and i would like to have my own doctor and not have to wait for 4hours to see him.but the thing i do agree with obama is we do need more troops in Afganistan and our allies to help us,and to help home owners.
Obama clearly lacks experience
Both of the candidates had good plans on how to solve our economic and forgein policies issues, but Senator McCain's plan definately sounded more effecient. McCain is definately right when he said that raising taxes is the worst thing to do, and the right thing to do is cut spending and keep the taxes low. Obama's healthcare plan will also do harm to our economy. Obama wants our healthcare system to be like Canada's, which currently has approximately four million people on waiting list. Would you want to be one of those four million? This is also going against our Constitution. No where in the Constitution does it say to pay for the people's healthcare. McCain's forgein policy plan is better. All Obama wants to do is sit around and TALK . On the other hand, McCain wants to take action. McCain said,"If we are going to aim a gun at someone, we have to prepare ourselves to shoot it.
The economic plan McCain used is the better plan.Lowering taxes and cutting spending would be much better for the economy than raising taxes.Obama promises the people 'protection' from the goverment and says that McCain's plan for staying out of it and dropping regulations is worse. He wants to help people dealing with foreclosures and have the government more involved which will only make things harder.McCain wants to have options and overseeing. He also wants to eliminate the dependence on foreign oil which would help our economy tremendously.Obama also wants to help with the energy situation but he also wants to interfere with health care.McCain's plan is the better for the economic situation. With foreign policies Obama has the better plan.McCain wants a league of democracy to help other countries grow together and become stronger instead of being a threat.Neither of them want to let a nuclear Iran happen.Obama wants to use a more direct action where we have contact with them before making them do something. He wants to talk to people without preconditions.McCain believes that is wrong.
Obama clearly states his points in the first half of the debate. 1) he believes that we, the people, should tackle the morgage problem now before it escalates to cost about 700 billion dollars. 2) He also believes that the government needs to step in and take over the economic crisis. 3) He plans for a tax cut on 95% of the american working class. 4)He plans for the use of universial health care, which in turn will make for more affordable costs in the medical fields.
McCain seems to avoid the questions throughout the debate, replacing which should be his rebultles with stories bent on appeasing the american public. The points that we recieve out of his long line of stories are: 1) He also seems to agree in general with Obama regarding his thought that the american public should solve the morgage problem before it gets out of hand. 2) Contrary to Obama, McCain believes that the government should not step in. 3)McCain said that we should free certain areas of the american government's spending.
Overall McCain had the upper hand in this debate, his view on the economic problem and his recovery plan seemed to be more thought out and well planned than Obama's. Viewing his thoughts on the war through an economic stand point, seems to point out that he looks to the future and sees how it and any other plans that he makes, is pointed toward improving the future. While Obama is focused on improving the present. The issue of universal health care is not fully explained, though it is seen that senator Obama is all for it. From an economic standpoint, universal health care is not an improvement for the economy, but a step backward. The United States government has been warned time and time again by the surrounding nations, (i.e Cananda, Great Britian, ect....) not to get involved with the system of universal health care.
McCain had the upper hand regarding the issue of foreign policy. His belief in the war is based on two points. 1) Whats done is done. You cant undo the past. 2) Having the American troops out abroad will help release tentions between the nations that America doesn't have great relations with.
During the debate several issues were brought up that conflicted with the constitution. Whether it was what they promised for the American public, or what they plan that would benefit the country's overall wealth. From tax cuts, to spending freezes. These however, do not violate the constitution, but conflict with some parts of it.
McCain obviously has the better plan to tackle the economic and foreign policies. McCain wants to cut taxes. He says, "I want to cut spending. I want to keep taxes low. The worst thing we could do in this economic climate is to raise people's taxes. Right now, the United States of American business pays the second-highest business taxes in the world, 35 percent. Ireland pays 11 percent". Obama said, "What I do is I close corporate loopholes, stop providing tax cuts to corporations that are shipping jobs overseas so that we're giving tax breaks to companies that are investing here in the United States". He also is proposing some $800 billion in new spending on new programs. As for the war in Iraq, McCain says our strategy has succeeded and we are winning. McCain said, "And that withdrawal is the result of every counterinsurgency that succeeds". He also said, "But if we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and adopt Senator Obama's plan, then we will have a wider war and it will make things more complicated throughout the region, including in Afghanistan". Obama seems to be only thinking about the amount of money we are spending and not about the safety of our country. Obama stated, "We've spent over $600 billion so far, soon to be $1 trillion. We have lost over 4,000 lives. We have seen 30,000 wounded, and most importantly, from a strategic national security perspective, al Qaeda is resurgent, stronger now than at any time since 2001."
As for statements that are not in accords with the constitution both candidates had at least one. McCain stated, "As president of the United States, I want to assure you, I've got a pen. This one's kind of old. I've got a pen, and I'm going to veto every single spending bill that comes across my desk. I will make them famous. You will know their names". Obama stated, "And when I'm president, I will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money unwisely. I make sure that we have a health care system that allows for everyone to have basic coverage". Both of these things are not jobs for the president.

McCain has a better plan to tackle economic and foreign policy issues. Because of McCain's military experience, he realizes the negative consequences of pulling out of war too early. However, Obama doesn't have any military experience. McCain wants to grow the econonomy through private enterprise. He also wants limited governemnt involvement, limited government spending, and lower taxes. Obama, on the other hand, wants more government involvement, and higher taxes for the rich- whom he considers to make "more than 250,000 dollars a year." Obama's economic plan could be detrimental because it discourages free enterprise and entrepreneurship. Obama's plan is to provide for the American people. This goes against the Constitution, which says that the government must be a protector, not a provider.
McCain without a doubt has a better plan for our Nation. He clearly stated that he is trying to get our country out of our ten trillion dollar debt while Obama has a plan that will make us even more in debt. When the topic of forgein intruders came up, the canidates had good points but didnt make an overall plan of success on how to solve the problem.McCain is trying to lower our taxes and is trying to cut down our excessive spending while Obama is trying to raise taxes which makes gas, food, and any type of prices to go up.Both of the canidates have said that they will provide for our country which is uncostitutional because in the constitution it says that our creator provides for us. Obama does have some successful plans for us but it just will take more time and will get us even more in debt to fulfill those plans.
McCain is better because he wants to lower taxes and regulate the money. He is trying to help everyone with the foreign policies not just one country. He also wants to do offshore drilling which would help everyone. He has more experience with the foreign policies also.
There weren't any constitutional issues.

John McCain knows how to help the economy. The plan he has has already worked once. Obama doesn't take action he just talks the talk but he doesn't walk the walk. Also Obama's plan for socialized health care is stupid.

Obama had upperhand on economics. There should be oversight on the process of money. Make sure that tax payers have the ability to get the money back if and when the market returns. THat none of the money would pad ceo bank accounts. Helping homeowners (root problem in his words). Mc Cain has the better healthcare plan for america. His healthcare plan isnt free but it would keep doctors jobs at bay. Also John said that we should focus on oil (Yah!) John Mc cain did say alot that he was a prisoner of war. He really didnt say that much of economics. Obama has a better plan for the war. Pulling them out, although it would be better if we could pull out when the job is done, mc cain wants to keep them in there, (well until the job is completely done). Obama would be saving alot of lives and keeping the peace with the families of the soldiers. Mc Cain also made a very good point about Obama talking to Ahmedi and being friendly with him when he wants to destroy israel which is our close ally.
John Mc Cain has the better plan for healthcare and economics. Obama seems to have a better healthcare plan if you are poor, but the doctors would possibly leave because they arent getting payed enough.
THe healthcare plan for Obama and the Taxing plan does not align with the constitution.
Obama, does have some pretty good points/ideas on the financial deal, which is all good, but he probably wont actually do it, if he gets the chance. McCain has almost the same ideas as Obama, but he's more interested in really helping out americans with this. McCain is going to vote for the plan about the big financial ordeal we are in. They both agree on that the system of running things isnt working out that great (which is quite apparent). McCain wants to get government spending way under control, which is a very very good thing. McCain wants to make more tax cuts, which is really great and actually really smart, and benefits everyone, even the government (isnt that funny?). But Obama wants to raise them, which in all honesty, is really really retarted, especially due to our country's economic problems. And making people pay more for everything isnt going to help at all. In fact, it will make people refrain from buying things, especially if its not a necessity.
Both Obama and McCain have good points, as well as bad, but just like any normal human being, we're not perfect. But McCain has more positive points than he does negative, and he seems to come out on top.

Both candidates have plans on how they want to help the economic and foreign policy issues, but McCain's plans are stronger and would benefit America more than Obama's. Though McCain has better plans for our economy and on our foreign policy, he and Obama want to provide for the country. Nowhere in the Constitution does it say that they are supposed to provide. They are to protect!

Obama made more since on where he stands in this debate. Senator Mccain just beat around the bush, and Obama did this many times as well. Obama said that Earmarx(or whatever he said, it didnt come through clear on the television)accounted for $18 billion on the budget, and Mccain wanted $300 billion in tax cuts for big businesses. This means that major CEOs would get a reduced amount of at least $7,000 of tax cuts, while the other 100 million or more average Americans out of the tax cut. Now what the truth of Obama's tax cut really is that he will have a tax cut for 80 percent of families and the other 20 percent will go to the big businesses...not 95 percent. I also state that since Mccain has been losing in the poles. He has "adopted" Obama's slogan for change.( And if you don't believe me then watch Mccain when he speeks at the Republican Convention). But over all both men have convincing arguments. What was not said by either candidates was the matter of border control. So that was shoching to not here on such a major topic
Obama and McCain both represented their ideas on the economic hardships and foreign policies that America is facing. But, McCain clearly had a better plan. He believes that, "the worst thing we could do in this economic climate to raise people's taxes." This is true because if we raise taxes then more people will fall into debt. McCain wants to regulate the money more and watch what money is sent out of the country. Also he wants to limit the oil we use from other countrys which will help tremendously. McCain also has a better plan on friegn policies because he doesnt want to quit or give up. Obama want to pull out of iraq for six months because he believes were losing. If we show that we just give up and go home for 6 months how ill this help? we might get stronger but so will they. Where as McCain want to finish strong and victoriously. When he traveled over there he talked to troops. Some of these troops said that they were staying even longer than their terms so that their children wouldnt have to fight. This shows that even the soldiers want to stay and fight for America. Both Obama and McCain said that they wanted to PROVIDE for America. The governments job isnt to provide for us it is to protect us. This is where they were unconstitutional.

To talk about economic policy, John Mccain has better ideas. Lower taxes and less involvement would prosper economy as giving motivation to work hard. Since people are granted to rewared for what they have been worked, this would be a good motivation to work hard and eventually will make economy goes well. However, Obama has better plan for foreigh policy. He thinks negotiations would get positive outcomes. For example, when it comes to north korea, Obama believes that US still needs to negotiate and it would have been brough better results it the government tried to do so.
While I was watching the Debate, i noticed that neither Candidate had a better plan to tackle the economic issues of today. Sen. McCain kept referencing that he had a lot of experience with the economic issue because of his many years in politics. I didn't think that he gave any specific solutions to the problems. As for Sen. Obama, he spoke passionately about the issues but didn't give real specifics on the economy. As for foreign policy, Sen. McCain seemed to be the authority on Foreign Policy. With his time spent in the Senate he showed his knowledge on the subject. Sen. McCain talked about his stance on Foreign Policy issues. He talked about his trips to many of the areas/countries that are in trouble or that DONT LIKE US. He talked about his meetings with their leaders.
Sen. Obama was not as direct on the foreign policy subject. He talked about if he was elected president he would go and meet with our biggest enemies to come to an understanding of their issues with the U.S.
Neither candidate was accused of saying something Unconstitutional. The Constitution is and was the framework to let people be free to pursue Liberty and Happiness in their life. One thing that might have been considered Unconstitutional is the stance that Sen. Obama has on everyone getting health care provided by the government. The constitution does not provide for a person's entitlements.
Both canidates have good plans for our economy, but McCain clearly has a better plan for the US. When they talked about foreign policies neither one of them were very strong in this area.McCain wants to base everything on war, but Obama wants to talk with our allies, but both are still alittle unsure, because they were too busy telling sob stories then worrying about how to fight the war in Iraq. So both of them didnt have complete plan with the war issue.
Then Obama went on to say that we need responsibility not only in a crisis but all the time. And when it came to the taxes McCain definitely had the better plan. He wants to lower taxes so that it is easier on everyone to pay. But Obama wants to raise them? America is already in a big enought crisis with money! why make it bigger?!? If we raise taxes that means everything goes up, in 2001 gas was about 1.50 now it is almost $5 a gallon! If we raise taxes now what will that do to our economy? this is the worst shape America has been in since the depression. Does Obama want to create another depression for us?..
Nick words of wisdom watch the debate first then get on my level oh and another thing Iraq didnt blow up the World trade Center Ben-Laden did so get youre facts right before you speak.Hmm Nick maybe you should follow the instructions but just incase you missed them i will give them to you.The first debate of this very interesting political election occurred Friday night.
Give me good things to read!
ps.how is Obama not unique when john Mcain practically is living in the same shoes as George W Bush. So if you like these last 8 years Mcains youre pick if you dont i suggest you dont vote or go with Obama. If you want to have a intelligent discussion based on facts i will be sitting in the far back of the elementry cafeteria. If you are not able to find me I suggest a map or just open youre eyes, either is sufficient.
Mr Williams,
Obama clearly has the upper hand in the solution of economic and foriegn policy issues. He is fully aware of the issues going on right now, he has a list of ways to fix our debt and strengthen our economy. In his debate Obama states, that we need, responsiblility, but not only when theres a crisis, he's focused on not just helping out "wall street", but also "main street" which includes helping out "the nurse, the teacher, and police officer". and people of that nature.
"Whats good for Wall Street but is not good for Mainstreet"
"Grow the economy from the bottom up"
* close corperate loop-holes
*stop providing tax cuts to companies that are shiping jobs over seas, give tax cuts to companies ivesting in united states
*health care system that allows everyone to have basic coverage.

Obama '08
Oh and another thing that should be brought to light is that when Obama says univeral healthcare, he doesnt mean its going to be free like countries Great Britian ect...What he means is hes going to lower the price not higher it like John Mcain.Who is going to tax people on their health care benefits. Another thing is Obamas not going to raise taxes people. Watch the debate he cleary said hes going to lower taxes for 95percent of the US population. As far as foreign policy Mcain thinks we can simply muddle through are problems. Shown by his comment saying that he believes we can simply muddle through Afghanistan which is the stronghold for terrorismn.
The assignment was to watch the Friday night debate and the first question asked is who has the better plan to tackle economic and foreign policy issues. As for the economy, Obama clearly has the best plan for improving the economy because he wants more government supervision over big business and the subprime lenders who got the country in this mess. McCain started out by saying there should be more accountability, BUT he believes that big businesses should be allowed to do more of their own thing and let the market solve everything, the less regulation the better. McCain said he believes in the “fundamental goodness and strength of the American workers.” By this he means American business. Christians know that the Bible teaches that people are basically evil, not basically good, and if left alone will become more evil, not more good. This is what businesses have been allowed to do under less government supervision while Bush is president. CEO’s have been making stupid amounts of money while regular people have been hurting. Obama’s plans will best guard against this and he will look at “Main Street and not just Wall Street.”
Both candidates’ take on foreign policy was bad because they were both pro-war. McCain wants the U.S. to stay longer in Iraq. Obama wants to send more troops to Afghanistan and might even send them to fight in Pakistan, which is not good. Governments here will always go to war, but Christians are called by Jesus to stay peaceful no matter what. When Jesus disarmed Peter after Peter cut off the soldier’s ear, he disarmed every Christian after that. Christians are not to go to war at all. While there are many things in this world worth dying for, there is nothing in this world worth killing for. Though neither candidate was great on foreign policy, Obama did say the Iraq war was a mistake and the U.S. never should have gone to war, which is right. McCain stood up to Bush against torture and the stuff at Guantanamo Bay, which is also good. If one candidate has to be picked, then Obama is the better choice because he said the best way to make America safer is to make the rest of the world look up to America like they used to. Obama is right, especially since Bush made America look like a villain or “Satan” to the rest of the world.
The second question asked is “what is being stated by either candidate or their plans that violates the Constitution.” First of all, a Christian is a citizen of God’s Kingdom and a foreigner in America (1 Pet. 1:17, 2:11; Heb. 11:13), so when Christians vote, it should be based on their true citizenship and not on who best represents this earthly American Constitution, since it will not always match God’s will. Second of all, ninth graders haven’t studied the Constitution much yet, so this question is tough to answer. The Preamble was easy to print out, and will be used here as a go-by. The U.S. Constitution is supposed to “establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty.” Both candidates said they wanted to end dependence on foreign oil, which does all of the above. Obama seemed more interested in alternative fuels. McCain said he would eliminate ethanol subsidies and didn’t explain why. McCain said he would put a spending freeze on everything except defense and helping veterans. This seems very dangerous. Obama said that a spending freeze like that was like a hatchet when we needed a scalpel, because what about education and healthcare and transportation and stuff like that? To not take care of all of those things would be to neglect the Constitution’s promise to promote the general welfare. So, Obama is the best choice so far to carry out the Constitution.
A warning...
From a far, the plan for a universal health care system does have its advantages. However, the universal health care has never been implemented in the US and never should. Twenty years ago, the United States lead the world having the longest life expectancy. However, many countries that have the universal health care system have surpassed the US. Now right now, you are probably thinking that if your country would get on the UHC (Universal Health Care......I got tired of typing it out) system that the United States would once again come out on top. If you think that, your wrong. Just flat out wrong. With the UHC system, death rates would increased because of longer waiting lines. The life expectancy of an average American would more then likely actually go down. Not because of the plan itself, but because of the gross life style you Americans live.
You want to know the truth? The reason the average life expectancy of an American is lower than other countries, is because the obesity rate of the American population is overwhelming. If you would just reduce the rate of obesity to the same levels as some of your neighboring countries, then your life expectancy would go up. Its that simple, get excercise!
Ok, now that I have pointed out to you Americans one of the reason your country is in poor health conditions, here is some actual facts about UHC.
*Health Care is NOT a right, and therefore it is not the government's responsibilty nor is it it's right to provide health care.
*If universal health care is forced on the public (and mandatory purchase by the federal government), it could and would more than likely be viewed as unconstitutional because the constitution does not give the federal government the right, but instead leaves all rights not mentioned in the constitution, up to the States or the People.
Though I disagree strongly with both of your candidates running for president, I believe that if I were an American, I would vote for McCain. Besides his disapproval of the universal health care system. I would not want a candidate who is in favor of abortions.
McCain has the better plan in him realizing that the average American throw's around money like its of the least importance in which case it is. He realizes that the cause of some of this is gas and how much the people can have. He supports tat we should be alowed to drill in more places that just the hurricane spots where it will all get damaged every year. He suggest that we should be held accountable and rewarded for it. Yet he see's that "greed is rewarded, excesion is rewarded, and corruption or failure to our responsibilities is rewarded" and he wants to change that.
McCain doesn't just want to pull the troops out of Iran or Afghanistan Either he wants to keep fighting to make sure that we are completelty safe from war. He wants to also prevent the Iranians from getting Nuclear supplies so that they will not attack Israel or us and start another holocaust.
His impression on our relationship with the Russians is one in need of help so that the Russians will stop showing great aggresion towards other countries like Georgia and Ukraine. He purposes a plan that includes defeaing te enemy once and for all andone that shows help towards his people and our allies. He Show's he is fully prepared to do what is needed to help this country succeed and to do whatever he can to help in what is needed to prevail in the US.
In the debate that occurred Friday McCain had a better foreign policy because he believed that it was important to keep troops in Afghanistan which would contribute to helping the area, he knows what the conditions are over because he has traveled over to the Middle Eastern countries. He stated that we needed to connect to the people in order to get their support and to give the U.S. a voice over their hostile environment. As for in the united states Obama clearly had the upper had he saw what the people wanted is trying to execute his plan to the best of his ability. Obama stated that he would drop taxes to 95% of the people. Also through his section he would always say, "When I am president..." This gave a feeling that he was so confident that everything will go right while he was president. Depending on who you are that could be good or bad.
In the department of being constitutional both were on most occasions, although Obama’s statement on lowering taxes and then spending 932 million on other things didn’t make sense. Where is he going to get the money for this?
During the debate both McCain and Obama had a chance to give their opinions on America. Obama’s financial beliefs are that there should be an oversight, ax payers eventually get their money back, and help home owners.
McCain’s financial beliefs are that, “this is the end of the beginning if we come out with a package that will keep these institutions stable.”
McCain believes the war in Iraq was a success until we started to make mistakes. Obama believes that we didn’t do it in the appointed time so withdraw. Barack Obama plans seems better its just that it will take some time until they come in affect
Dj Olowojesiku
Both candidates had very good points but all in all McCain was the candiate with the better plan and proposed ideas. McCain said that the worst thing that we could do for our country right now would be to raise taxes because if we raise taxes then the Americans will fall into dept and then where would our economie be??
McCain's ideas for getting the country out of the financial crisis
1. the government needs to get spending under control.
2. keep taxes low for everyone
3. drilling off shore
4. health benefits
5. create jobs, loans etc
6. "we have lost accountability"
7. need to reward the people who do good things. no more rewarding the wrong.
Obama wants to only tax cut 95% of Americans. What about the other 5%??? they could fall into debt!!
McCains opinions about the foriegn policy issues.
-doesn't want another holocaust.
-we can't pull out troops because the worry is with the people that their children will have to be in the war if we stop it now before winning.
-troops come home with honor.
-Its all about tatics and strategy.
-Iraq is a threat to Israel and surronding because of the nuclear weapons.
If we do what obama says and pull them out then how is that going to help us in the future. We are winning obama not losing!!
McCain and Obama both said things in their debate that did not follow the constitution. The big thing that both of them said was that they would provide for the people. Well according to the constitution it is not the gov job to provide for us. McCain once said that he would veto every bill that came to him on spending. well that is not his job to make that stuff happen. Obama also said something about health care bills. well it is not there job to pass bills. that is the legislatures jobs. i'm pretty sure...
The better plan between the two presidential candidates would have to be Senator McCain. Senator McCain's plan will help the ecnomy grow as opposed to Senator Obama.
Obama's economic plan consists of four parts: 1. Oversite 2. The tax payers would have the possibility of getting their money back 3. Making sure that the tax payer's money doesn't go back to CEOs of huge companies (this is known as the "golden parachute") and 4. Help the homeowners.
By following Obama's plan he would be leaving the middle class alone by not taxing them and taxing the top 5% of wage earners. He would then take the money, tax it, and then give it back to the lower class who can't afford taxes. Then, Obama would set the business tax at 35%. By setting the business tax this high he believes that it will keep foreign investors from setting up in the U.S and make them want to go to a country like Ireland (because they have an 11% business tax).
McCains's bailout package consists of three parts: 1. Accountability 2. Transparency and 3. The protection against homeowners losing their homes.
McCain will create jobs by eliminating the reliance on foreign oils. McCain wants to cut taxes so that the wage earners can keep their wages with themselves. This way, more of your wage can be spent, making the economy grow. This is a plan created by Ronald Reagan called "trickle down economics".
McCain and Obama's plans to getting out of the financial crisis differ.
Senator Obama wants to grow the economy from the bottom to the top. He plans on doing this by cutting 95% of the taxes for the working families. Following this plan would cause the top 95% to get taxed but the bottom percent wouldn't get taxed.
McCain's plan to get out of the financial crisis makes more sense. McCain will start from the top to the bottom. Basically, he will first get the spending under control in Washingthon D.C. The main problem of spending in D.C are the ear marks. When writing a bill, in order to get it passed line items (ear marks) are placed on the bill. These ear marks give money to certain senator's districts. McCain wants to make it where ear marks don't exist. After that there will be an immediate spending freeze except for in the Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs. This way he will cartel ear maks made by Senators.
Senator McCain's plan will ultamitely help the economy grow, whereas, Obama's plan could seriously hurt the economy.

Obama said that not talking to countries did not help anything which is true but he wants to isolate America from the nuclear crisis. And on the economic side Mcain wanted to lower spending by reducing taxes on larger businesses which would help all of america. on the other hand Obama wants to raise taxes just for the upper class americans which would only help with the lower class, and since he wants to do this it would not help because even in the Bible Jesus says we will always have the poor. All Mcain wants to do is use spending on defense spending which would decrease spending in the middle east right now, but all Obama wants to do is cut off spending to Iraq which would result in the same problem we had before, another war. Mcain won in foriegn policy by protecting all countries from being able to get nucleaur resources which could result in more peace in Asia.
some of what Obama says is unconstitutional such as Obama taking away what wealthy individuals and companies have worked for which doing this people can lose their job the more companies we have the more jobs america will have
-Alex Dykstra B2
McCain has a much better plan to tackle economic and foreign policy issues. McCain is correct in his idea that lower taxes will better encourage the economy to recover, because the last thing everyone needs is to be taxed to death, especially when there are major problems such as a lack of gas. McCain is also correct in his foreign policy proposal. His military experience alone is enough to make him far more suited for the position of Commander in Chief than Obama. Not only that, but McCain understands the need to finish the war that was started, rather than pulling out prematurely.
A major problem with Obama's foreign policy proposal is that he defers to the United Nations for handling issues of protecting the defense interests of the United States. This surrenders the concept of our government's constitutional responsibility to protect and defend to another organization.
Katie Crowe, B3
Mccain definatley has the better plan. Mccain wants to lower taxes. One of the worst things for economy would be to raise taxes. The United States of America is one of the highest nation with taxes and they need to decrease. Obama want to raise taxes which would not be a good thing for our nations economy. Now the war in Iraq according to Mccain is getting better. Our nation is withdrawling our soldiers from there because we are winning the war. He also stated that if we go with Obama's plan that we will have a bigger war on our hands which is not what this country needs. Obama is more concerned with our nations finances than our protection. Now for the constitution part, both of the cannidates state things that aren't neccessarily their job. McCain stated "As president of the United States I want to assure you I've got a pen. This one's kind of old. I've got a pen and I'm going to veto every single spending bill that comes across my desk. I will make them famous. You will know their names". Obama stated "And when he becomes president he will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money unwisely. I make sure that we have a health care system that allows for everyone to have basic coverage".

While both parties did a great job defending their plans and reasonings, Mcain's plan was much more thought-out and reasonable.
When FDR was president, something similar to our economy today occured. Although our situation is not as dire as the Great Depression, I think that the two economic mishaps can be comparable. FDR's plan was to create new government agencies to help in the time of crisis and also to create many more jobs so that poverty stricken Americans would have a chance of getting out of the huge economic hole that was forming. The plan worked by helping to (although slowly) heal the broken economic situation, and provide lives for the millions of Americans who had lost jobs. Mcain's plan is quite similar to this. Instead of having illegal immigrants taking up all of the jobs, he is suggesting that Americans take up the jobs. Mcain wants also wants to create new jobs that will not only benefit our country by helping us to gain new resources if he opens up jobs in the oil industry, but it will also help the millions of out-of-work citizens create new and improved lives. If FDR's plan worked, and Mcain's plan is basically the same as FDR's, isn't it common sense to side with Mcain? A main difference between FDR's plan and Mcain's plan is that Mcain didn't mention creating government agencies, but that isn't a bad thing since today we just have a lot of useless government agencies that don't really do anything. Obama's plan is to just give middle class families money by immediate tax cuts, and would like to give bonuses to senior citizen. If the people don't work for the money which they recieve, how will they ever fully appreciate its value? Mcain is giving the people money, but only if they prove that they have a desire for it. Obama is suggesting that he will give people bonuses even if they don't do anything to better our society by working. America is already in massive amounts of debt. Voting for the candidate who is going to do something about it just makes sense. Mcain promises that if elected, he will elliminate wasteful spending, which include spending millions on useless research about bears. Obama suggests that if the economy keeps getting worse, he will simply create more tax cuts. If we cut out even half of the wasteful spending and research that this country has, we can just begin to scrape the surface of getting out of our billions of dollars worth of debt. While Obama's plan is mostly centered around "middle class working families" Mcain seems to understand that America isn't just made up of "middle class or working families." The President of the United States shouldn't just stand up for one social class, but stand up for every social class. The choice as to who will do a better job as president is very clear according to this debate.
Both McCain and Obama have clearly thought of how they want to solve the economic crisis. However McCain's solution would be much more effective. It would be much more effective because it has been proven in history to work. The presidents in the past that have lowered taxes have brought in much more money for the government than the presidents that have raised taxes. Where the presidents in the past went wrong was in the spending. Though the presidents made more money they still spent way more money than they paid. McCain however also want to cut spending. the combination of lowering taxes along with cutting spending is clearly the better solution the the current crisis.
Both McCain and Obama said the government is here to PROVIDE and PROTECT the U.S. The Protection part is very constitutional and correct, however the Provide part is not found anywhere in the constitution.

McCain obviously has the better plan to tackle the economic and foreign issues. McCain speaks the truth and has a well thought out, and great plan for the United States. McCain's plan for taxes is the way more sufficient for the average American. McCain has such a better plan for the taxes than Obama does!
The United States, at this point, is struggling with gas, and or oil. McCain's plans include more offshore drilling, causing the gas prices to lower, and the 'crisis' to go away.
Concerning healthcare, McCain still has the better plan for the American people. McCain wants people to buy their own healthcare, while Obama wants to equalize it so everyone has basic coverage. If Obama's plan goes through taxes will be raised!
- I agree with McCain in that we need to hold people more accountable in the White House
- I also agree that we need to cut more spending.
- What Obama said that reallyt bothered me was he only talked about what he wanted to invest in and not what he wanted to save.
-Andrew Nesbitt
Overall, the debate was pretty much a stalemate. If the 2 canidates would combine their ideas and take the best from each, then that would be a pretty good president. McCain edged out Obama in the economic part of the debate by pointing out that Obama said that he is going to cut spending but he is asking for millions of dollars for stuff we don't even need! McCain's policy for tax cuts isn't ideal because it's the hard-working, money-making corporations that are giving people jobs. Obama's response to this was pretty dumb because his main point in response was that it's not fair to the poor people. Sure it is. If they want money, they can go and work for it.
The foreign affairs part of the debate was dead even. Obama had dumber ideas but he did a good job in pointing out McCain's flaws. 1st of all, why does he want help from Russia and China in Iran? They are the 2 biggest communist countries in the world! WHY?!?!?! Obama also said that we should invade Pakistan because there is some Al Keida people in it. We already have out hands tied up in other places and you want us to draw out of Iraq to invade Afganistan and Pakistan? Wow. He also wants us to meet with our enemies without preconditions. They are called enemies for a reason : they hate us. If they wanted to be peaceful, then they would be called allies. Especially North Korea and Russia. They have nukes pointed at our heads. If we say something that they don't like, they press a button and we die.
Both of the canidates have things that are against the Constitution. In Obama's plan, he can't decide whether to invade Pakistan or not. In McCain's plan, tax-cuts are against the Constitution.

John McCain has a better economic plan to lead the nation. His plan calls for tax reductions to all Americans, which will motivate individuals to spend more money in the economy. John McCain also calls for spending reductions in government agencies. He is planning to eliminate waste spending. In addition, John McCain's economic vision for the future calls for the opportunity to drill for oil in the United States, making the people of the country less dependent on foreign oil. This is something that Barack Obama opposes. Senator Barack Obama has the plan which calls for a tax increase on indiviuals or corporations making over 250,000 dollars. His plan will reduce the ability of corporations to maintain solid employment to idividuals. Obama's plan taxes the rich. Therefore, Senator John McCain has the better plan to tackle the economic issues.
On the other hand, Senator John McCain has the better plan to tackle the foreign policy issues. John McCain is planning to reinforce national security programs and build on the military and will not negotiate with terrorist countries. Senator Barack Obama proposed national security policies that are unclear and could jeopardize the security of the United States. During the debate, Barack Obama struggled with foreign policy quesions from the mediator.
Barack Obama's foreign policies do not protect the United States Constitution because his plans for both the economy and foreign policies do not protect the interest of the people.
McCain has a better plan to tackle the economic and foreign policy issues. McCain's big point is that he wants to cut government spending. he points out how Obama is has plans that would raise government spending, and also points out irresponsibility of the government with spending problems such as spending $3,000,000 to study bear DNA in Montana. McCain also wants to give tax cuts to all American's and lower taxes, while Obama only wants to give tax cuts to 95% of American's (excljuding those who make more than a set amount per year). McCain says that this will be possible because the of cut of government spending that he plans to make. McCain is correct in this thinking because if people are taxed fairly and less then they will be more willing to work and invest in the American economy.
Parts of Obama's healthcare plan can be deemed unconstitutional. The Constitution says that the government is suppose to protect the rights of American's. Obama, however, has this confused, and he plans to provide for American's by giving all American's basic healthcare. This clearly will not work because this will harm those who do pay for their healthcare. McCain, on the other hand, plans to let the matter of helthcare be up to the patient and their Doctor, not the federal government.

Hello
I agree with Mccain in most of the things that he said. Obama on the other hand just confused me.
I agree with Mccain when he said that we need to cut government spending. This is obvious because America is billions of dollars in debt and government spending is what makes that debt so high.
I also agree with Mccain in that he believes that taxes should be lowered. Not only is this something that is really upsetting many americans, but it is also hurting the economy. People have less money to buy things, and prices go up.
One large thing that Mccain and Obama disagreed on (and they disagreed on a lot of things) was the war that we are currently in. Mccain believed that we are justified in having gone to war and that it is likely that the war is going to end soon, while Obama believes that we should never have gone to war in the first place.
Over all i think that Mccain won this debate and that is not just because i like mccain more but it is also because mccain made more sense and had better ideas.
-Parker Smtih B1
McCain has the better plan to tackle the economic plan because the United States has the second highest business tax rate in the world. McCain wants to cut business tax to attract more businesses to stay in the U.S. Also, McCain was the strongest when talking about the Foreign Policy. Obama wants to withdraw from Iraq but both the army generals and Osama Bin Laden say that Iraq is the central battle ground for the war on terror; which means that it is the focal point for war on terror. Obama wants to cut funding for defense systems. McCain wants to increase funding because without funding for the defense systems we would not be able to come up with new technologies and we would be more vulnerable in the event of an attack. What is being stated by either candidate that is not in accords with the constitution? Obama’s plan to spend 800 billion dollars to give everyone healthcare does not agree with the constitution. McCain believes that the family should make health care decisions, not the government. Also, the bail out plan goes against the constitution. Both Obama and McCain agree on this plan. The bail out plan will loan 700 billion dollars to the failing banking industry alive. It is not the responsibility of the government to keep failing companies in business. Bad companies should be allowed to fail and they should suffer the consequences of poor decisions.
John McCain has the better plan for economic recovery for these reasons. First, the McCain economic plan relies heavily on federal spending cuts. In his plan, federal funds would be reallocated away from wasteful pork barrel projects and into the important government programs. Second, McCain would keep as much money as possible in the hands of citizens and private businesses. Both of these first two points are key to his plan for smaller, more efficient government. Third, McCain has what seems to be a workable plan for freeing our country from dependence on foreign oil.
Obama differs from McCain on all the points above. Obama proposes to increase spending, which he would fund by increasing taxes on the businesses that could use that money to create jobs and economic growth. Obama does propose to free us from dependence on foreign oil, but his plan excludes new nuclear power plants, which is a key component of the McCain plan.
McCain is also better prepared to deal with foreign relations. He is right that we are winning the war in Iraq, and that it is essential that we finsh the job there. Obama proposes to pull out of Iraq, which would be disasterous for that region and perahaps the entire world. Second, McCain is also right that our president should not negotiate with leaders of terrorist nations without preconditions. Obama has said that he would do that. Third, McCain has much more experience with foreign relations and has a better understanding of political and military strategy.
There did not seem to be anything mentioned by either candidate that was in direct conflict with the Contsitution, but Obama's idea about what could be called socialized medicine goes against the basic foundation of the Constituion.
Well clearly Obama was the better debater in this debate. Yes Joseph and Tamarcus, Obama owned John McCain.
Obama so far has proven that he himself has the better plan of tackling the economic and foreign policy. This a is a true opinion becuase he came to the debate annoucing problems in and with america. And he came with better answers.
Jim Larah (Host of the Debate) asked a very important question (all questions were very important). He asked the two presidental candidates what was the lesson of iraq?
Of course McCain said the lesson was that we needed more troops and that we must come home with victory and honor. Does he know that by doing all of this, he is actually wasting money and lives.
Obama on the other hand makes a good point about how we have wasted $6 billon soon to be a trillion on the war. He also says that we should never hesitate to use military forces.
The Tax-cut and the health care plan didnt really line up with the constitution. This goes towards both candidates.

Mccain has better plans for economy and foreign policy than Obama has. 1)He firstly, supports the free trade. It is important because it is correct with the theory of market. The economy can't grow when the protective trade is excuted. 2)He also claimed that raisng taxes can't be occur. He disagreed with Obama powerfully. Raising taxes would kill poeple , especially the poor.
3) Lastly, in his saying , he intended to send North Korea strong message about the nuclear problem. He is trying to solve that problem with South Korea.
The unconstitutional statements from both candidates didn't occur.

They both have their on plans to help the economy but i agree with Mckains healthcare plan more because it seems much better because i want to choose my own doctor and not let them be chosen for me
McCain had the best economic ideals for the recovery plan. 1) the plan was to be transparent, nothing hidden but all its motives seen. 2) McCain wanted oversight for his plan to ensure that the plan only allowed what it was supposed to. 3) The plan is to have high accountability for the entire government, and at all times, not just in crises. 4) Importantly McCain plans to use much stricter guidelines to cut the spending of government and porkbelly spending, like Obama's request for 800 billion to create new spending.
On foriegn policy, McCain also had strong ideals. McCain knows we need Pakestan as a stable ally. Also, McCain wants to place sanctions on Iran to better control the situation. Importantly, McCain sees that Russia has broken the pact of their cease-fire by invading Georgia and that small countries need protection from a country led by the KGB.

To answer your question Mr. Williams I think that Obama may have slightly outdone McCain in this debate. Although both candidates were not very reassuring with their plans to better the economy, Obama seemed to have a better understanding on what needed to be done. Obama believes that we need to spend less money and cut taxes in order to turn the economy around.
When it comes to foreign policy, both candidates were very vague on exactly what they wanted to do and tended to want to talk more about the economic issues. In comparison though, they were just about even. McCain just kept bragging about how he was a POW and knew what war was like. While Obama kept badgering the same points about how he believes we should only attack the people who actually hurt us.
Both candidates talked about many things that were against the constitution. The purpose of the government is to protect us, and although a lot of what is said is meant to try to protect us, it's not in accordance with the constitution.
Both Obama and McCain clearly explained and supported their plans to tackle economic and foreign policy issues. Althought Obama is a good speaker, McCain's arguments seemed to come from the heart. McCain's plans to tackle the issues proved more significant. He not only supported his plans, but had evidence of past actions to prove he would really take part in improving the issues. For example, Obama talked about helping with the debt of America by cutting taxes, however, McCain made an excellent point by saying look at the records. According to the records McCain was the one who fought against wasteful spending, he has tried to keep spending under control, and he belives the best thing for america is a tax system that is fundamentally fair. By McCain having records that prove his want to help, it makes his plan to tackle economic issues all the better. As far as unconstitutional, both candidates are guilty in that they both claimed to take care of America and provide. However, that is not the governments job.
Obama can talk the talk.. but can he walk the walk?=]

both candidates came to the debate to fight but John McCain won this debate whether it was the economy, taxes, spending, Iraq or Iran. There was a leadership gap, a judgment gap, and a boldness gap on display tonight, a fact Barack Obama acknowledged when he said John McCain was right at least five times. He repeatedly put Barack Obama on the defensive throughout session. Obama did little to show the voters that he’s experienced enough to handle foreign and defense policy. called Obama “naive” at a couple points in the debate Obama never seemed able to attack back. . . . .Some of the biggest differences came over foreign policy, and in particular the war in Iraq. Obama has called for ending the war; McCain contends that the fight is central to combating terrorism and stabilizing the Middle East.
Obama described McCain and the Bush administration as overly focused on Iraq, saying the United States had used to many resources on the war and failing to spend enough on healthcare, science and technology.
Well the debate, i think was a tie, both were petty good. 1. They both know what they want to do as president. 2. They both are well spoken. 3. They both are ready to be the president.
Mr. Williams, iam not going to lie, i dont care who wins, like i dont like either of them, i mean if i had to choice it would be McCain, but i really dont care. I have another ? why do say, yor not for either Obama or McCain but your always telling the class all the bad things Obama does?
Ross would like to begin by stating that John McCain is a horrid debater, but his policies are decent. That said, Ross will continue.
The beginning of the debate consisted of McCain and Obama avoiding answering the questions that they were asked. Obama made it known that his policies were for socialization of healthcare, a dangerous and bold move on his part. Such systems of healthcare have failed elsewhere in the world.
McCain was in favor of allowing offshore drilling. THis would theoretically boost the economy.
Both candidates acknowledged that the US needs to pull out of Iraq, but only McCain has the ideal method of gradually leaving.
Ryan Brown, W3
John McCain plans to take care of the economic and foreign policy issues. One of McCain's major points is that he wants to get rid of government spending. McCain points out that Obama has a plan that would raise government spending. He also points out the irresponsibility of the government with spending problems such as spending a lot of money to study bear DNA in Montana. McCain also wants to give tax cuts to all American's and lower taxes. Obama wants to give tax cuts to 95% of American's except those who make more than a set amount per year. McCain says that this will be possible because the of the cut of government spending that he plans to make if he is elected. McCain is almost completly correct in this thinking, because if people are taxed fairly, then they will be more willing to work and invest in the American economy.
Parts of Obama's healthcare plan could be assumed unconstitutional. The Constitution says that the government is suppose to protect the rights of American's. Obama, however, has this confused. He plans to provide for American's by giving all American's basic healthcare. This clearly will not work because this will harm those who do pay for their healthcare. McCain, on the other hand, plans to let the matter of helthcare be up to the patient and their Doctor, not the federal government. McCain's plan on healthcare makes a lot more sense than Obama's plan on healthcare.
Ryan Brown, W3
Both McCain and Obama had clearly thought out what they believe is going to help our country, but McCain clearly had a better plan to tackle economic and foreign policies. He made points on accountability and the fact that “we have lost accountability”, creating jobs, and that he will vote for a plan. His main point throughout the debate was cut spending! To reward those who deserve it and not rewarding the wrong. McCain says keeping spending under control, vetoing spending bills, keeping taxes low, and “freeze spending” will help us begin to move out of this financial crisis. If people are treated fairly and taxed fairly, then willingness to work begins to not be a problem and people have no problem trusting the government and investing in it. Some points did come up that were unconstitutional, such as McCain making points about how he and the government can help the people, but his job and the job of the government is not to help but to protect, that’s what laws are for.
-Brittany Nesbitt W3-
Obama has the better plan. He wants to bring troops home from Iraq within a 18 month span. He will create tax cuts that will help over 90% of americans. He wants to redo the North American Treaty to bring jobs back to the US. He wants to have socialized health care.
Socialized healthcare would be against the consitution, it would give the goverment to much power.
MCcain obviously knows what he was talking about when it came to spending. He said he wouldn't pass any bills regarding spending, hence, we stop making our debt worse. Obama is thinking that we need to tax all the rich people more. BAD IDEA. On medicare, Mccain's got Obama beat again. Mccain wants to make the people who can afford their perscriptons pay for them. The plan Obama is going with has already been tried and doesn't work. John McCain also won the foreign policy debate. Obama hadn't been to Ahfganistan, and McCain wanted to keep our troops in there.
Hands down, it's pretty obvious who America SHOULD vote for.
Stephanie Berry
McCain and Obama both have their ideas on what they think will best help the economy. McCain’s plan makes more sense and is stronger than Obama’s. McCain wants to keep taxes low and says that the worst thing to do is to raise the people’s taxes. He also wants to keep spending low. Obama wants to raise the taxes to try to create equality and allow everybody to have basic healthcare coverage. McCain believes that people should purchase their own healthcare.
Sarah Conkle W3
On debt in programs, they talked so fast. So i found about their opnion in webcite.
Mc Cain's opnion is better i think. He talked very important things to America people. Mc cain disagree about money change very high or low in short time. When money move, people will be really confusing. His opnion is make low the corporation tax. It's good for people. When the corporation tax is really expensive, poor people will not paid it to counrty, then they will not live in their house.
when the corporation tax low people will ca pay it which they make their money. And Mc cain will save big company when he become president. That is important thing because when big company will save and grew up, it will make really help to America's economic. Now America's ecnomics are not good i think. But when big companys are save, they will make lots of money to this country. That is why mc cain's opnions are better than Obama.
McCain, obviously, had the first part of the debate. 1) He wants to cut spending so America can finally start to repay her debt. Everyone knows that cutting spending is the only way to get out of this debt. spending is not going to get us out of it. 2)McCain also wants to do offshore drilling which would make the gas prices go down, make the people happier, and will give less money to terrorist groups. 3)McCain thinks people should purchase their own health care. It is unconstitutional for PROVISION for health care by the government, which Obama plans to do.
mccain showed in the debate that he had a better plan to help the economy.
he wanted to cut government spending which would definately help. keeping spending under control would help move the country out of the current financial crisis.
mccain also said he would lower taxes for all people, not just those with higher incomes. if people are being taxed fairly and treated fairly, their will to work would increase and money would circulate back into the economy.
mccain also said he would have people purchase their own healthcare. then people wouldnt be taxed more and paying for other peoples healthcare.
mccain also has the right idea on foreign policy. sadly leaders cant just meet and talk things out. right now military force is needed to keep our country safe. but hopefully theyll be home soon. :)
obama said some things that were not inline with the constitutional- the job of the government is to protect, not provide.
Both of the candidates got their point across, although some of McCains debates seemed stronger than Obamas. Obamas plan for the taxes is absolutely rediculous and McCain is right on saying that we need to cut our taxes. Obama probably shouldnt meet with that guy with the weird name. It would most likely just cause more problems, although there is no reason to say that it wouldnt help a little. McCain wants for the people to buy their own healthcare. But what if the people cant afford it? Then what? Are they just left "healthcare-less"? That doesnt seem that fair.
-Cherish Carr-
McCain clearly understood the questions and had plans for the foreign policy. 1. He knows more about foreign policy since he's been in the Senate longer. 2. He has a greater understanding of who the world leaders are and how to deal with them. 3. He is in support of military operations. McCain also had a good response on economy after a while. He stated that quote, "this is the end of the beginning". He wants to create jobs. And he wants to eliminate reliance on foreign oil. However, they both contradict the Constitution with the issue of Education. Obama wants to make college a lesser price - $4,000, instead of 30,000. (give or take) McCain wants to give money to expand ONE scholarship in ONE area - D.C. It's not just that, he wants to spend money to expand. And that's more money out of our pockets...for both of them. The purpose of the government is to protect not to provide...and that's exactly what they're doing - providing money.
This is separate from my post. I do feel ashamed of McCain for this debate alone. For one thing, He didnt really answer the questions and Obama really knew what he was talking about. I am a republican but when it comes to this debate, Obama really had a plan for everything and I really think it has dramatically changed America's vote for McCain.
In the debate, Obama said that he wants to tax the rich and larger corporations to save the economy. MccAin said that we should lower taxes to stimulate the economy. Obviously taxing big corporations is gonna cause more inflation.
Obama said that all people should have equal medicare, which was a disaster for countries Canada, who cant get medicine and precidures because the government controlled it. McCain said people should pay for their own health care.
My favorite topic is with foreign policy! McCain time after time, with his experience in armed forces, say that Obama "doesn't understand". Obama says that he should go and talk to these foreign countries leaders, who as a majority hate the US very much, directly. McCain said that its not that easy to deal with problems like this. McCain says over and over, "you don't understand." Obama, in my opinion, does not have the experience and understanding on how to deal with foreign policy, and the economy.
-Jess McAnally
John McCain has a better plan to tackle the economic and foreign policy issues. Obama spends his time basically apologizing for being American, focusing on past mistakes and trying to find ways to make other countries like the USA. McCain is clearly more patriotic if nothing else because he realizes that the rest of the world is not America's problem. As far as economics, McCain supports free market and limited government, while Obama's plans to raise taxes look suspiciously like socialism and will only hurt our economy.
Kayla Crowell (W2)
im w3 btw....
They both have a clear plan of how they want to help the economy. McCain's plans are much stronger than Obama's in that he wants to keep taxes low and cut spending. He said Obama's plan is "the worst thing we could do in this economic climate to raise people's taxes." McCain wants people to buy their own healthcare and Obama wants to even it out. Obama is not in aggreement with the Constituion in that the government is supposed to protect our rights to take care of ourselves not force us to pay for other's healthcare.
In the debate between Obama and McCain, some key issues were discussed and one could get the impression that McCain was better prepared than Obama was. During the debate, it seemed at times that Obama was just searching for words while McCain actually had an answer right away (and it was a complete thought). The way that McCain presented himself in all was more convincing. On the issue of the war in Iraq, Obama said that he didn't want to be in the war in the first place, which is understandable but in the same sense not really the issue. McCain felt that the war was nearing an end and that finishing it out would be the right route to take. Dwelling on the fact that one does not agree with something is quite childish. McCain wanted to cut government spending because America is already in so much debt. Having the government spend more money would put the United States in not only a financial hole, but a ravine. McCain also wanted to lower taxes, which would be as beneficial to the people as it would be to the government. If people are giving all of their money to the government they won't be able to spend prosper and buy things, which will put the U.S. in its current situation-chaos. The last thing is that people should have to buy their own healthcare, it is just not fair to the people of america who work hard to have all of their money go to people's healthcare who don't do anything to contribute to it. It's like the common store house system in the colony's, it's not gonna work. McCain all in all, should have clearly shown people that he is a better candidate than obama. In the words of McCain himself,"As president of the united States, i want to assure you, I've got a plan."
I more agree about Obama.I think
MCcain is better than Obama.
A. 1.U.S.A don't have to meddle the other country(Iraq).
2.Country have to use money for the people because, they worked for the country. If people can't cure their sick because of money,no one worked for the country
3.Almost country regulate about gun.
Dead people are more than the people
that save the life.President control guns perfectly.
B.people made AMERICA for freedom.
but they didn't give freedom to the Iraq.so, MCcain disobey constitution.
Economicly McCain has a way better plan than Obama. He wants to CUT spending, and Obama wants to spend MORE. The president shouldn't be worried about the taxes, when it
isn't his duty, or power to handle (both of them do this). Obama
shouldn't be trying to give the government access to health care
or educating the children, it isn't the presidents juresdiction.
Obama has a point about how the Republicans were wrong about a few things in the war such as about the weapons of mass destruction.
McCain is right! we are winning the war in Iraq. Obama Mentioned that we need money to support clean energy, like wind energy I agree that it is important that we use cleaner energy. Overall McCain has a better plan to tackle the problems of America.
In the beginning of the debate, both candidates avoided answering the question. Eventually, the wheels started turning.
McCain seemed to have the better plan for the economic policies. Although Obama did mention tax cuts briefly in his policy, they were not heard from him anymore. Obama then criticzed McCain for the misunderstanding of the business tax. Obama then said that the loopholes should be closed up on our 35% business so that the businesses cannot escape the payment anymore. The way that Obam adressed McCain on the issue seemed that he was going to do the same but close up the loopholes, but obama never mentioned to actually lower the tax. McCain wins economic policy.
Foreign policy was McCain, hands down. Although it is admittable that McCain harped on him being a POW, he did so to show that he knew what he was talking about. He is a veteran who endured beatings for the honor of his fellow soldiers and for the better of his country. Why do u want the commander of ur armed forces to be inexperienced in war when he is the one giving orders? McCain stated that we finish the war in Iraq because we are making progress, but he would like to be in Afganistan in three months. All Obama kept sayin was "lets go to afganistan." McCain adressed that after the FIRST time he said it, so lets move on shall we? Also Obama stated that a mother had come to him and asked him to basically take the soldiers out. There was no draft into the war this year. None whatsoever. so, although it was a nice pitty story that Obam put out there, it is not as if the soldier was forced onto his positon. The soldier CHOSE to become a soldier and fight for his country. Although it is tragic that a mother had to endure such pain, so not blame it on your country, but instead, be proud of your sons valor and respect he displayed for his country.
The constitution was violated many times during there economic policy segement. Both had certain parts of their policy that violated the constitution.
ps. McCain seemed to be bothered by the fact that he didnt get voted mrs congenialtiy in the senate. he mentioned it several times haha
Logan Tucker
McCain has a better plan to tackle America's economic and foreign policy issues. He wants to lower the taxes and cut spending. These will naturally lead to a better economic condition. He does not believe in meeting with crazy leaders from countries who are know affiliates with terrorists. I don't believe that McCain says anything that violates the Constitution. Obama, on the other hand, supports things like higher taxes on the wealthy Americans, "free" healthcare, and other things.
-Brent Hall W3
McCain had the better debate. He seemed more composed and he is the lesser of two evils. Obama was more tense and he started to stutter and to try and to interrupt McCain a few times where he felt he was starting to look bad or seem stupid.
McCain emphasized throughout the whole debate the cut on spending and and lowering taxes to have a equal 10% taxation on everyone. Obama wants to have a tax on just the upper and middle class citizens to have the bulk of the taxation, and the lower class to pay little to none.
my favorite part of the debate was when Barack said that he was going to sit down with Ak Ma Denashad and when he says that he wants to blow Jerusalem off the face of the earth, Barack will just say.... "no your not". McCain made Barack look like a fool in so many ways.
Leading up to the debate, it looked like Obama had a better idea about the reality of the financial crisis. Recently, within a single day, McCain went from saying the economy was "strong" to the economy being at one of its lowest points, while Obama saw that the country was in trouble long before.
It doesn't look like the debate had a clear winner. From the start of the debate, Obama seemed to be stronger discussing the economy. He clearly explained what the country needed from the bailout plan, being careful to not absolutely commit without knowing the specifics (a good idea, since this is so much money that is being discussed). He also stresses the need for regulation, so this same problem doesn't happen again. Considering the current financial crisis, and the negative impact deregulation has played, it's likely that McCain would continue on the same path as Bush (especially when you look at how it was a lack of support from Republicans that defeated what was supposed to be a cooperative plan in the House this week. You don't have to be a Democrat to see that the Republican party dropped the ball with the bailout plan).
As far as foreign policy, McCain seemed more confident than he did on the issue of the economy. He tried to corner Obama when they started to discuss the surge. Obama responded that McCain acted like the war began with the surge. "You talk about the surge," Obama said. "The war started in 2003, and at the time when the war started, you said it was going to be quick and easy. You said we knew where the weapons of mass destruction were. You were wrong."
It sounds like the debate was originally supposed to focus on foreign policy, but by Friday, most of the talk was about the economy, so the candidates didn't go as in-depth on foreign policy issues as they might have.
As far the Constitution, nothing the candidates said seems to violate the Constitution.
In this debate, Obama and Mccain both clearly know their plans for restoring the economy. But both of their plans are very different. McCain believes that America is very hard working, and that we can restore this crisis that we're in. He also stated that spending needs to be controlled in Washington, and have a 300 billion dollar tax cut. On the other hand, Obama has asked for nealry 1 million for projects, and have a tax cut of 95% of each working family to equalize the economy. Clearly McCain has the better plan, he wants to stop spending, unlike Obama. Obama tells what the citizens want to hear, but McCain is clear in what he says and has truth. Unconstitutionally, it is not the governments job to provide for America, but to protect.
During the first part of the debate, the two candidates spoke about the economy and money issues. Both candidates had very clear, strong points but i beleive that McCain had the more powerful argument. McCain and Obama had many similar points. For example; Both Candidates proposed the idea of controlling the amount the goverment spends. Also they said that they were both concerned about taxes. McCain said that he wanted to lower all tax to an even 10%- for everyone. He realizes that high tax creates issues for upper class, middle class and lower class. Obama beleives that money should be put back into the hands of the lower class people and such. McCain hit the points of how important it is for get oil. He knows that we need to get our OWN oil and control the way we take care of foreign affairs. Obama did strongly say that he would help make health care affordable but it was again stated more toward that middle and lower class people. John McCain was to help poeple out financially in the upper class, lower class and middle class. He supports very string and organized points.
The second part of the debate was focussed on foreign policy. Obama stated that it is time to be done with Iraq and take out the troops because the terrorist groups and organizations aren't there. When there are innocent people being murdered in extreme numbers because of groups of people stationed IN IRAQ, as a nation, it is our duty to help them. Biblically, God calls us to fight for what is right. killing innocent people INS'T right. If the United Stated doesn't defend her country in Iraq, that same war will be brought to our home land. John McCain wansn't as strong in this part of the debate but it is clear what he stands for. Terrorists attacked America and we HAVE to defend our country. In Dueteronomy 20: 12 it says," If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city." i beleive that flying planes into two towers killing hundreds and hundreds of people is engaging in battle.
McCain and Obama both mad points that were not completely by the constitution. Tax-cuts and Healthcare were not from the constitution. But i beleive that Obama and McCain had very strong arguments.
on the economy-
Obama wants more government control over our lives - healthcare, housing, and more. he thinks he can pay for all his programs by taxing the top income earners in this country more. Government programs always grow bigger and cost more money and cause higher taxes for all Americans. Also, healthcare is not a right and is not guaranteed by the Constitution.
McCain wants to cut taxes for all Americans. He wants people in charge of their own healthcare plans.
on Foreign policy -
Obama wants to meet directly with world leaders that are enemies of the U.S. Nixon met with Soviet and Chinese communist leaders and created better relations. but some leaders, like Chavez, disgrace our country when given an audience.
Different from McCain, Obama wants to pull out of Iraq and tell the bad guys exactly when we are leaving. he does not care whether Iraq is ready for us to leave or not.
McCain has said he will meet with our enemies when they have shown they are willing to do better. he also wants to stay in Iraq until our job is finished.
since i no longer go to this school, i can freely say JONAH IS AN IDIOT
The second debate goes to Mccain again. Obama made a big mistake, and hopefully all the American people caught it. He told the people everything he was going to spend, stuff that the people want. He also said that he would cut more than he would spend, but what important factor did he convienentally leave out? EXACTLYwhat he was going to cut. Mccain wants to drill offshore, which is going to help America immensely with gas prices. The people can't afford it right now, and drilling offshore is vital. Finally, Mccain said that the bailout was something we need to do, because it will put the housing market back on it's feet. That will help greatly because if the government doesn't bail them out, the people will and it will cost America.
-Stephanie Berry, W2
Obama has never been to Afganastan. McCain's fight was much better in this debate. He's supporting our troops and doesn't want to pull them all out at once. Some countries leaders can't be trusted. Obama wants to sit down and, like Matt Holley said, play nice, but he knows they won't. They fought over stupid spending and who had spent the most already instead o just moving on to the next subject, like they were supposed to.
So far the presidential debates have been nothing more than two grown men pointing the finger at each other, and trying to convince the audience who is better.
Barack Obama has said over and over that he wants to give middle class families tax cuts. Also that we have to make investments in solar, wind, and geothermal. Finally that the troops have done enough bring them back and let the government handle the negotiations.
While McCain says we should use nuclear energy and leave the troops there. He also believes that we should not only take care of the companies but the families too.

1)In the second debate, Obama had better plan for the security than Mccain had.Mccain was contradiction. First, he said America need a bombing attack for North Korean and Iran
but in this debate, he said that America has to be tender for them but need a strong message. Obama said he will try to have a conversation with them. It is good way to solve the problem.
2)For the tax policy, Mccain was better. Obama said that American needs a plan for the middle class, but he will raise the tax. It will make the middle class poor. So it's not fair.
3)In attitude, Obama was nice. He was calm and logical, but he stroke back to the Mccain when Mccain criticized Obama's plans.

McCain had proved the better points. 1) McCain understands as the economic crisis grows larger, America should not be spending on frivolous things. 2)Obama says he will cut more than spend, but he did not make it clear as to what spendings he would cut, showing that he has not taken as much time thinking of this what to cut. 3)Obama believes that healthcare should be run by the government even though it's a right given by God, not the government.
Bravo Amain. Well put. No can really argue with you on that. Barack Obama is now the president elect, and I believe that he knows exactly what he is doing.
