Uncle Sam's Health Care aka Hillary-Obama-McCain Care
The United States government is making a horrible mess of our energy problems. The solution is not more regulation but deregulation. Let the market work this out; let companies drill where there is oil. But, we have another mess on our hands- the Federal government wants to get into the health care business. Both candidates have supported some type of government run health care system. Of course their Marxist arguements is that poor people need help, and they are there to do it. Classic vote getting scheme! But, look at the facts. Poor people already get help through Medicaid and Medicare. Look at the other great social provision of the federal government, Social Security. SS was established with the idea that the government would help people retire better by forcing everyone to put a portion of their paychecks into a government run retirement account. Only problem is that there is no account. The government spends the money in those accounts. Many retirees are living meager retirements on their "fixed" incomes. If people had taken that same money and invested it themselves, they would have millions of dollars. Social Security is going under. The Federal government has recognized there is a day in the very near future that Social Security is going to run out of money. Here is the point: if the government messed up Social Security and can't managed this correctly, then why in God's-green-earth would anyone trust them to run health care. Social Security taxes are already high, and the benefits are low. Do you really want the same thing to happen to your health care plans? Other countries have tried and seen that socialized medicine does not work. Canada is a great example with over 900, 000 people on waiting lists. Other countries have similar problems, and the taxes they pay for this universal health care are far greater than what they would have paid on their own. Why does anyone trust the government to do anything right? It does not make common sense to continue to give them our money, which they will just waste away like they have done with Social Security.

I agree that the people are created equal, and that the people have the power to abolish the government if it becomes destructive, and that we ought to be free from all allegiance to the british crown. Quinton Kitchin
I agree, that the people of the USA, have the right to abolish the government if it becomes destructive. We are given a freedom, that everyone is equal, and that along withe the British we are deaf to the voice of justice, and we are.

The system that was created for "then" and is not working in the now present future. We need a better system that will not only actually allow the retired to have the money they deserve, but also make their own decisions on where and how they spend it.
Tomarcus Williams
the system was made for what was best then, and not for the future refrences. so it doesn't help us now, it hurts us! Us actually needs something that will GIVE money, and not take, something that will let them choose how to spend it too. We need something helpful!

I agree. The British handled the riots wrong and killed people at the boston massacre. so for the good of the colonies, and because it was their right, (after all a government is supposed to be to serve the people not for the people to serve it.) to overthrough their alligence to England. I dont see why most of the people in the world have no confidence in the government. I dont know much about all the stuff that goes on in the world, but I know that people always pick out the worst things about a person and judge them like that. Yes, the government has made some decisions that didnt turn out the best, but they have also made a lot that have. You never know if them taking action in the healthcare system will turn out good or bad. Therefore, i dont think you should say they shouldnt by the mistakes they made with the social security system.

Mr Williams i disagree and agree with some of your points. I first agree with youre ss statement abut the goverment spending are investment, because we as America are in the hole. But i disagree with youre statement about poor people making millions off of investing without ss. I say this because the first thing they would do would pay off their bills, also who says a poor person would even have the knowledge to invest in the right things ect.
joseph
Also Mr Williams its not that we should stop the social security program. But have all the funds restricted to where the goverment can not touch it.
ps..A canidate named by Obama says he will lower health care.So that all people can afford it even the poor
Joseph
The government has and is doing some wrong things, that they might not think is wrong, but to the people it is. I agree that we are created equal, but if we didnt have the government because we would all be equal, it would definately ruin our nation, that is what laws are for... Probably the best thing to be made in America.
hey Mr. Williams!
well i see where you are coming from but i disagree when you said we shouldn't give money to health care. Yes, the government use the money to do other things but they never lose or forget the money that we put in. so they will still help us in time of need even though they spend our money on other situations.
Although we have a very good reason not to believe in the government, we'd be nothing without it there to keep us going. If the people can't trust in the government then what can we trust in? They make mistakes, but they help keep us inline.

Mr Williams,
I do not agree with your point about the energy crisis, because our goverment is having trouble with the oil and other natural resources but everyone makes mistakes, mistakes that they can learn from, that help them CHANGE.
I do not argree with your point about SS, because you cant make a generalzation of the gov. just because they made a mess of one program. We as future leaders can learn from these past mistakes and make sure they dont happern again.

I agree that we should not have socialized medicine because if we do then like u said we will have simmilar problems as with ss and other countreis. If the govement simply used the tax monny in a moore efficient way i think that the SS problem would be lowerd. however the world isn't perfect no matter how hard we or the government trys to make everything work out ok it wont, but if we support the government they will do there "best" to make things rite. i do disagree with socialized medicine but i also disagree that its the governments falt that we have problems , people l;ike to blame them but its not always there falt.

I see what he is trying to say, and I respect his opinion. My question is, how can we be sure what the government can and can't do unless we allow them to do it?
At this point, health care is already a problem. I don't see it getting much worse if the government regulates it. Either way, the poor people lose.

Hello Mr. Williams,
The government takes a lot of money. They take and take and don't know what to do with it. They tax us on absolutely everything. Sales tax, gas tax. It's like giving your money to a robber, and saying, "Keep this safe for me." Do you honestly think they will? The government is the same way. Any adult that wants to retire with money, would not want to put their faith in someone who will spend it away. Plus they don't know how to balance it out, America's is in debt, it's real. Let us put our own money away, and if we don't, then we're not really losing anything. We all have choices. In England, there is a man who has heart problems, and needs surgery, but he is put on a list like everyone else with minor things. That's not right at all. Several teams in a tournament were exposed to rabies and had to get shots, payed 120 dollars in Georgia per shot, but only 15 dollars in Illinois. How is that right? The consumers control America. If no one buys it, it won't sell and no one will make money. The government needs to give us aright to choose.

Great comments except for the people who didn't not listen and posted comments about the Declaration of Independence.
Always, argue from point of fact. Bottom line is that no where in the Constitution does Congress have the power to regulate or give out health care. Second point, it HAS been tried and socialized health care does not work. Third, Social Security does not work. I disagree with the post about people not making more money if they invested it themselves. They need to study economics, because the law of compound interest allows someone to make a great deal of money over time with a comparably small amount of money. I KNOW that with all the money that the Federal government has taken from me already at the age of 33, that I could have taken that money and by the time I retire I could live very comfortable. You will also find that saving money for people's retirement is not a power granted to Congress in the Constitutional. Many people should actually read (by the way our class WILL) the Constitution and the 10th Amendment to see what powers Congress actually has and who has all the rest of those powers. That is just common sense.

i agree with the blog but i disagree with the government because they have messed up peoples money in the past.i agree that people who have worked all there life should get a good retirement but the people who dont want to work we dont need to help them
The government needs to stop taking our money for SS and just give what they owe to the retired people. If they did medicine it would just end up like SS did. We should just be responsible to save some money for our own retirements and our own healthcare costs.
I agree mostly. the War in Iraq is America's biggest problem and we need to pay attention to it not health care. I do think that the government should allow people to have their own health care plan. but for those you can't get one that the government should have top-noch hospitals free for the big emergencies of the inferm or homeless. Nick Collini W2 REAL ONE
I do not agree with your first point. Everyone needs healthcare, wether they already have it or not. I completely agree with your second point though. SS will eventually be destroyed by the corrupt leaders that take the money for themselves. We have to trust our government because itt runs the country. They government isn't corrupt, the people are.
Leon Haralambus
I disagree about the goverment.
if poor people pay little money to the hospital, they can't get good service. it's unfair.
I agree about SS.These things made
AMERICA that good country.
I'll do same thing to my health care plans.I work for my country(because i send taxes).if they didn't take care of me,no one didn't work.then, there isn't the country.
-I agree with McCain in that we need to hold more people accountable in th White House.
- I agree that we need to cut more spending.
- Obama would only talk about what he wanted to invest in and not what he wanted to save.
- Andrew Nesbitt
I agree. The poor already get enough help through Medicaid and Medicare leaving no reason for the Federal Government to interfere. However, i do disagree with your statement on s.s that if they had invested the money themselves they would have millions of dollars. If they had the knowledge to do that they wouldnt be in that situation in the first place.
